SEEKING TEACHER OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (May 5, 2008) – Is there a teacher who has greatly impacted a child’s education? Someone who truly excels at their profession? The Portsmouth Public Education Foundation (PPEF) and BankNewport announce that nominations are currently being accepted for the 2007/2008 Portsmouth Public School Teacher of the Year. The community is invited to submit a 50-word description as to why the teacher has earned this distinction.
Nomination forms were distributed to all students in Portsmouth Public Schools to bring home to their parents the first week of May, and forms are available for the community to pick up at BankNewport’s Portsmouth Branch at 2628 East Main Road as well as the Portsmouth Public Library.
Nominations will be accepted from May 1 through May 31, 2008. Completed nomination forms can be dropped off at BankNewport’s Portsmouth Branch, 2628 East Main Road during normal business hours or mailed directly to the PPEF, P.O. Box 58, Portsmouth, RI 02871. The winning teacher will be awarded at the PPEF Annual Fall Social in October.
